ATTENTIONSCAPE
Portraits of Attention — An Immersive Data Artwork
Immersive moving image
What happens in the fleeting space between looking and seeing? ATTENTIONSCAPE enters the invisible movement of attention, following the moments in which the gaze is drawn, held, dispersed and returned.
Across 66 seconds of viewing, 4,356 data-driven positions emerge from measured visuospatial attention. Through MAGS, the data enters a journey of arithmetic relationships: addition gathers and accumulates, subtraction opens distance and absence, and multiplication intensifies and expands. Each operation becomes a passage rather than a calculation—a transition in rhythm, density, colour, depth and sound. The same attention moves through different mathematical states, revealing how a change in relationship can unfold an entirely new perceptual world. The work asks whether attention can be seen, and what becomes visible when a momentary gaze is translated into form.
